What is Dragon Age: Absolution Season 1 about?
Dragon Age: Absolution is essentially a cookie cutter fantasy story pasted over Dragon Age lore, with a motley band of misfits off on the quest for a MacGuffin and to save a damsel in distress. It’s a plot device we’ve seen a myriad of times across the years and armed with a frenetic pace, Absolution absolutely runs with this. We have coverage of Absolution across the site, including a full season review. You can find that HERE!
Has Dragon Age: Absolution been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Dragon Age: Absolution has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, Dragon Age: Absolution has had a pretty good reaction from critics but more mixed from audiences, with most lamenting the fast pace but liking the action and animation. Given the way this show is set up, there’s definitely potential for a sequel, especially with the big reveal at the end with the Queen and Miriam’s quest seemingly only just beginning. Despite the nature of the ending, we’re going out on a limb and predicting that this will not be renewed for a second season. We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. However, we’d likely see that impending war on the horizon, with the dark armies gathering and desperate to get the Circulum while Miriam and the others continue on their quest. As mentioned above, we predict that this will not be renewed and will end up as a cancellation casualty but we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though! Would you like to see Dragon Age: Absolution return for a second season? What did you think of the show?
