An Incredible Role-playing Experience When it comes to role-playing games, there’s no question that the Japanese are the undisputed kings of this genre. With a much improved influx of Western RPGs recently, including the incredible Witcher 3, developer Atlus responds with this absolute monster of a game. Persona 5 is not just one of the best role-playing games ever released, it’s a thought provoking journey in its own right that challenges the RPG genre with its mix of taboo themes and tightly refined gameplay mechanics across its 100+ hour play time....

The concern I had with ‘Power Rangers’ after watching the trailer is the same one I felt watching the film, who is this film targeted at? While the film is clearly aimed at a new audience of young teens and kids, there’s enough nods toward the original series that feel like it’s trying to appeal to “those 90s kids” that grew up with the franchise. In doing so, the film never truly hits its stride despite some good work early on....

A Platformer Lacking In Uniqueness Fuelled by 90s nostalgia, Rad Rodgers: World One is a fun, challenging platformer thrust forward by crude humour, gunplay and a non-linear level structure. At only 4 hours, the game is somewhat of a fleeting experience and during this time there’s a distinct lack of imagination in the level design, with most of the 8 levels soaked in neon. Rad Rodgers quickly loses what little appeal it had going for it early on, failing to innovate beyond the initial premise of breaking the fourth wall, satirising the platform genre and blasting through the levels making for a largely unremarkable experience....

Reacher Said Nothing Episode 7 of Reacher Season 1 starts starts with Stevenson and his partner Emma worried and debating about leaving town. Emma is pregnant and she thinks they should get away and get a fresh start. Unfortunately, that same black car from before shows up, holding four men with latex suits and a crowbar. Meanwhile, Reacher touches down in Atlanta and is picked up by Finlay at the airport....

This is hard for Reed when he continues to run into Bree, who badgers him to play a game they used to enjoy when they were dating. Eventually, he gives in and even agrees to get dinner with Bree at their old favorite restaurant. Before they meet for dinner, however, Bree overhears Reed telling Nora he loves her. Realizing they can’t have their old relationship back, she cancels on Reed....

Do-jun is convinced that the mother he remembers could never take her own life and goes to investigate the cause. He breaks into the three-way restaurant and goes through stuff, trying to get a clue. He comes across Hyeon-woo’s report card and remembers his mother’s struggles and encouragement to become rich, so his kids never have to suffer. While investigating, he comes across documents about Soonyang Life Sciences and an investment portfolio his mother had made for the company....

Renewed Or Cancelled? Girl From Nowhere is a Thai series originally broadcast on GMM 25 and streamed worldwide on Netflix. The original season dropped back in 2018 and became a bit of a sleeper hit. The subsequent sequel then released in 2021, expanding the lore and ideas from the previous season and taking the story in an interesting new direction. It also leaves things wide open at the end of the final episode of season 2....

Renewed Or Cancelled? Hellbound is the latest horror k-drama on Netflix, written and directed by Yeon Sang-Ho who helmed both Train to Busan and Peninsula, among several other illustrious projects. With 6 episodes and an open conclusion, there’s certainly a lot to like here, even if the opinions are going to be more of a love/hate divide than an outright pouring of praise. Resident Alien Episode 4 With an inspired Alan Tudyk in the driving seat, Resident Alien revolves around a crash-landed alien called Harry who takes on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor. He’s on a secret mission on Earth but finds himself wrestling with his own moral confliction over this. There are plenty of funny jokes, lots of intriguing twists and turns, while Harry’s arrogance works really well to personify his character....

Revenge of Others Episodes 9-10 2022 has been a decent year for K-dramas and Revenge of Others looks to follow suit. While simple in theory, the show does manage to keep things exciting and dramatic across its run-time. The story here follows Ok Chan-Mi, a 19 year old high school student. She used to be a shooter for a high school team but her entire world is turned upside down when her twin brother dies....

You Sure Have Your Quirks… Episode 7 of Romantic Killer begins with the rich Ikemen’s agent, Tsuchiya, promising to give Anzu a ride to school. Anzu apologizes to the rich Ikemen in the car. She wonders why a rich boy like him is attending a public school like hers. The rich Ikemen tells Anzu that she must be flattered to go to school with someone like him. Anzu receives a text message from Saki and Tsukasa as they drive....

Zombies After last episode’s questionable ending, Rugal dusts itself down and delivers a pretty exciting episode, even if it does have a few questionable elements placed throughout. If you can take to the action and take this one at face value, there’s a simple enough thriller at the heart of this one that should make for easy watching. Episode 4 of Rugal sees the team grab Ki-Beom and bring him back to Headquarters....

Miscommunication On Set After her night holding Seon-Gyeom’s hand, episode 9 of Run On begins with Mi-Joo waking up and gasping when she sees her reflection. Her hair is a mess and she’s determined to look her best for Seon-Gyeom. Our runner meanwhile, is out for a morning jog. When he returns to the hotel, he helps himself to some noodles from the cafeteria and sits with Mi-Joo, complimenting the girl on her good looks....
