Say what you will about the stories themselves, there’s no denying that the cinematography and general framing of this 140 minute film is outstanding. From the evolving use of lighting to the tonal shifts between genres, this anthology does an excellent job bringing tales from the American Frontier to life....

The Hidden World Episode 7 of The Forbidden Marriage begins with Shin-won and the King teaming up to rescue So-rang. They rescue the kidnapped girls but So-rang is missing. One of the girls tells the men that So-rang kept shouting at the slavers while Hae-young was crying before they were taken away. Chun-seok finds a stone and in true Hansel-and-Gretel-manner realises that Hae-young left colourful stones that he had gifted her to the place she was taken....

A Surprisingly Good War Film The Forgotten Battle is a well-written, gritty war movie that leans into its characters to deliver three parallel narratives. Those expecting a lot of action will be disappointed but the characters are well written and the way everything collides together naturally at the end serves as a nice way to conclude this film. World War II is our setting and after a slick animation showing the advancement of the Allies across a map of Europe, the film wastes absolutely no time getting right to the heart of the drama....

The Hostage Situation The Game: Towards Zero has been a real rollercoaster ride this year to say the least. From lofty heights to incredulous lows, this thriller has jumped between exciting set-pieces and head-scratching and poor character decisions throughout the season. As we cross the halfway point of this Korean drama, there’s a sense that this one is being dragged out a little but there’s enough action set-pieces to keep you sticking around for more....

The three teens in the driving seat of the series have good chemistry and develop well across the various adventures and encounters they find themselves mixed up in. An ending that’s sure to polarize a lot of people and a really simplistic art style does hold this one back from being a more memorable venture but The Hollow has enough going for it to make it one of the better animated entries Netflix have released recently....

An eerie and thematically strong stop-motion gem The House is a delightfully bizarre medley of ideas and concepts, thrown together into a gem of a stop-motion movie anthology. Themes of corruption, greed and loneliness are rife right the way through this, but these allegories are cleverly disguised through some gorgeous imagery and three very different tales woven together. Clocking in at a little over 90 minutes, each of these stories are allocated a good 30 minute chunk of time, although they do sometimes end a little abruptly – especially the first part....

The End? The Season finale of The I-Land begins with Chase awakening to the psychiatrist telling Chase she’s been exonerated for her crimes, thanks in part to her husband’s confession. Her husband, of course, being Cooper. Bonnie and Clyde were rogue agents messing with the game and for now, she’s off Death Row and a free woman. As the Warden approaches her cell, he’s warned against antagonizing Chase. Despite being weary about leaving, Chase agrees to follow the guards, where she learns her last name was Chase and that her actual name is Gabriela....

Khloe states that she is happy for Kourtney but also points out that some things are not for everybody. After trying hard and failing to conceive with IVF, she and Travis will try to conceive naturally. The family states that they are happy for Kourtney but both Khloe and Kim refuse to try out the cleans with her leaving Kris as the only one to agree to try it out....

A Long Time Ago In A Portal Far, Far Away Time travel tales are always good fun. When it comes to The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special, fun is the operative word here. This movie-hopping romp sees Rey tumbling through time to familiar and significant moments across the franchise’s history. It’s the perfect ode to the past, mixing in some nice jokes and a lighthearted tone to make for an enjoyable 45 minute special....
