The Scandal Apple + launched today with The Morning Show primed as one of its flagship new series. With a budget of 300 million dollars and a second season already green-lit, they certainly have a lot to prove with this drama series. Boasting an impressive cast, Apple gives us a decent drama here, focusing on some current issues America is facing around the MeToo movement. While the show fails to stand out next to so many other dramas in this genre, it still makes for an interesting watch nonetheless....

The Interview The Morning Show gives us another strong episode this week, concentrating more on Bradley’s character as she’s determined to put her personal stamp on the show, gaining the approval of America by showing her true self. The episode does a great job building tension too, climaxing in an interview which will cause serious shock-waves in the weeks to come. We begin with Alex and Bradley presenting their first show together....

An Interesting Concept Poorly Executed From Dishonored and Deus Ex through to Metal Gear Solid and Hitman, stealth games have been a mainstay in video games since the early days of console gaming. Taking ideas from a broad source of different games, The Occupation conceptualizes an idea of using time as a gameplay mechanic whilst delivering an authentic stealth game full of investigating and sneaking. While there are some nice ideas here and the game itself does well to pace out its narrative in a compelling way, the lack of auto-saving, long stretches of monotony and a wealth of glitches make this more of a missed opportunity than it should be....

Ro-Na Returns Episode 3 of The Penthouse Season 2 begins with Yoon-Hee’s big reveal, showing herself to be equal to Seo-Jin’s malevolence. She tells Seo-Jin that her vocal cords have been fixed, thanks to Logan Lee’s surgery, and brings up the irony that her throat saved Seo-Jin’s career. It turns out Yoon-Hee set all of this up from the very start with Park Young-Ran. She installed spyware on Seo-Jin’s phone in the past, using an opportune time to spy on everything she’s doing....

A Winning Formula? The Purge series and accompanying films are a great example of how to take an interesting concept and never quite execute on that excellent idea. The first season of The Purge is the perfect example of this and I’ll be the first to admit, when I heard this one had been renewed I was incredibly sceptical over where they could go with this. With renewed vision, an interesting premise and some much-needed tension, The Purge gets off to a great start with its second season, ending with plenty of intrigue for the season ahead....

From Simple Sources Episode 10 of The Republic of Sarah begins with confirmation that Sarah’s birthday is on March 26th. Hey, that’s my birthday too! Anyway, I digress. There’s more development with the mining though, as Sarah heads down to check on Lydon and the progress they’re making. She’s also there to catch up with Danny of course, and the bombshell last episode that he revealed. While Grover continues to attend therapy, Sarah discuss the current warm weather in town....

It is not a violent thrust into action but a deeper look at the exotic, hard taskmaster who makes things happen at the White Resort. She picks up coffee in town, runs down a hassler, and encounters Ethan on the way. The morning is not kind to Dominic either, who instantly regrets sleeping with the girls. Bert spotting the women exiting his room makes matters worse. Harper readies herself ins skimpy clothes, makeup, and perfume to welcome Ethan after his run....

Exodus Episode 8 of The Wilds Season 2 starts with Shelby singing in a bar. Toni is there to see her perform but it’s not her who appears in the dressing room after the performance. It’s actually Gretchen. She offers her a choice of the blue or red gummy bear. However, this surreal segment happens to be one big dream. What do Fatin and Shelby find? Back on the island, Fatin and Shelby team up together and, with the journal in hand, realize that these scribbles actually amount to an elaborate map of the island....

Lilac & Gooseberries Episode 5 of The Witcher begins with an ominous exchange between two characters. One seems to be an imposter, wearing human skin, until he’s recruited for a job in Nilfgaard. Mousesack is released from a cage and dropped on the floor and as we see the man transform, the true nature of this creature is revealed as he takes Mousesack’s form before plunging a knife into the real one....

Covenant II Episode 9 of Them begins in the past with a man named Hiram Epps paying his respects at a grave site. As he heads back to town, he finds Miles under a tree. Using the bible as a guide, he brings him back home and nurses the child back to health. Fast forward in time and Miles rushes in and updates him that a traveler is en-route. This happens to be a weary black couple, Grafton and his wife Martha....

Julio has had enough. He’s not funny, and he needs professional help. So, Luis sees the volunteer psychologist, Sandy. Sandy helps him unpack why Luis feels he has to be funny all the time. He realizes it has something to do with the void his father’s passing left in his life. Luis feels lighter once he figures out he’s been hiding his trauma behind his humor. He then takes his new knowledge to try to therapize Julio....

Forty: Part Two Episode 2 of This Is Us Season 5 starts up at the cabin as the group prepare for Randall’s arrival. Only, Rebecca’s gone missing which causes panic to ensue. Thankfully, Miguel receives a call from the police confirming Rebecca has been found after an episode and brought back to the cabin. When she turns up, she’s clearly not of sane mind and Miguel does his best to calm her down....

A complete tonal blunder Ever since Avengers: Endgame, Marvel have struggled for momentum. Wandavision started Phase 4 off relatively well, despite its skewed morality, followed by lackluster efforts in Falcon, Loki and Moon Knight. The latter of which heavily borrowing elements from Legion. Multiverse of Madness then used the ol’ switch and bait to reel people in for a Doctor Stranger movie, only for us to get Wandavision Part 2. Finally we have Ms....

Ghosts Of The Past Episode 7 of Titans picks up after last week’s excellent stand-alone sub-plot with Connor. With Jason falling helplessly to the ground and Deathstroke getting the last laugh in the fight with our Titan squad, things look bleak for our superhero team. We begin with Jason falling and reminiscing over his ordeal with Deathstroke while Dick contemplates what to do next. Interrupting his thoughts, Bruce Wayne arrives and berates him for his stupidity in offering to trade his own life for Jason’s....

Trial By Fire Crime documentaries and shows are big around the world and now, given the number of mysterious cases coming from India, the country has started narrating the stories of real-life criminal incidents through the medium of movies and tv shows. In collaboration with Netflix, fans are able to see shows like Indian Predator, a documentary that narrates the story of criminals from different parts of the country. We also see Netflix’s Delhi Crime which is a dramatization of the real-life True Crime stories that put the country on a stand-still from time to time....

The Triangle Begins We begin episode 2 of True Beauty with Ju-Kyung bemoaning her dual life and how exhausting it can be sometimes. This catches us up to the moments from last episode as she falls on Soo-Ho at the bookstore. He tells her he had the book first but when Ju-Kyung looks set to bolt, the owner of Prince Comics brings her a load of food to eat. As she sits and quickly starts eating, Soo-Ho encourages her to read the book first and then he’ll have it....

Uncle Episode 14 Uncle is a Korean remake of the BBC drama with the same name. Following a down and out musician with no fans or prospects, Joon-Hyuk’s life hits rock bottom. He also has an estranged sister called Joon-Hee. However, with things looks bleak, Joon-Hyuk turns to his sister for help. Joon-Hee meanwhile has just come out of an abusive relationship. She moves into a cheap apartment and decides to try and make a fresh start....
