The Awards As we’re getting closer to the finale, things are getting heated and even more emotional for our characters in Crash Landing On You. The show has managed to show a great contrast between both countries while remaining respectful in doing so. It has also been quite the eye opener as we watch the four soldiers adapting to the more modern side and freedom of the South. While they’re not the main characters, they have become such a clever addition to the show and deserve as much praise as the main cast....
The Award Ceremony We are certainly ending the year with a great Korean drama in Crash Landing on You. So far, the show has already given us plenty of fun, tense and dramatic moments and we are only on the third episode. The show feels quite refreshing with an original story and great cast, and in particular the two main leads. The chemistry between them is excellent and I am enjoying seeing her getting to know the other four soldiers as well....
The Body As we approach the third act of this cheerleading drama, Dare Me ramps up the tension between our trio of ladies as the personal and professional careers of our girls come to blows. The result is a messy explosion of emotion, ending with a shock reveal and some slick choreography for the final dance. A By-The-Numbers Chick Flick Despite Everything is a charming, by-the-numbers chick flick, one that sticks to a simple premise with enough charisma and comedy to keep things interesting through to the end. With the plot established early on, this 75 minute picture spends most of its time building up the relationship between the sisters and it’s here where Despite Everything does really well. Unfortunately the formulaic plot and lack of imaginative set pieces holds this one back from being a more memorable Spanish film....

Despite a slow opening, Everest is a breathtakingly tense thriller about two separate expeditions of mountaineers racing to reach the summit of Mount Everest. With a tight two week window where weather permits groups to ascend and the ominous mountain lying before them, this well shot, dramatic thriller is heart pounding with an unconventional ending that helps it stand out. With decent cinematography and each base camp used to separate the tense climbing sections, Everest has all the makings for being a great film but its let down by some weak characterisation and a slow opening....

Fear Street Cliché Lane Fear Street is a mess. That pains me to write because I’m a huge R.L. Stine fan. I’ve unashamedly read every Goosebumps book, devoured the 90’s series growing up and dived into both Point Horror and Fear Street during my childhood. But Netflix’s latest opener in this penned trilogy is a complete and utter tonal clash that unfortunately doesn’t work. Looking at the source material, Fear Street is a book series made for young teens....
