The Porcelain Doll Netflix’s latest Brazilian thriller is a campy, quirky teen drama that does a relatively good job balancing its different elements. Although its timeline jumps are a bit gimmicky and the production design leans on the cheap side, the diverse cast and interesting overarching story should be enough to see you stick it out for the long haul with this one. Episode 1 of Spectros begins with a ghostly apparition talking about life and death....

With tears stinging her eyes, she grits her teeth and tells her Father she has no faith given what’s happened to her....
A Disjointed, Disappointing Mess Although The Force Awakens was largely disliked by fans for its lack of originality and sticking too close to the tried and tested Star Wars formula, there’s no denying it was still a structurally adept movie that felt like Star Wars. The Last Jedi defies expectations and belief during its 150+ minute run time for what can only be described as an underwhelming, disjointed disappointment. Characters have no real stakes, the plot is shaky at best and the discordant use of misplaced comedy make The Last Jedi one of the worst Star Wars films released and certainly the biggest disappointment this year....

Like, Share, Self Destruct The App is the latest Italian Netflix film that blends elements of Black Swan and Black Mirror together with a cautionary, destructive tale of one man’s pursuit of danger and excitement. On the one hand, the film works quite well to showcase this, with some cleverly placed religious connotations and ideas, accentuating the heavily-leaning theme around sin. Unfortunately in barreling along with this single-focus, the film loses some depth with its characters and worse, leaves some unresolved questions and plot holes at the end....

Kristy helps her mum pack up and get rid of old clothes, before focus turns to the big drama this chapter. Watson entertains the idea of going on a big trip to New Zealand but when he doesn’t get much of a reaction, he turns the attention across to the upcoming baby parade rocking up in town....
