Surprise A good horror film feels like a rare thing these days. While it’s not particularly scary, The Invisible Man is a claustrophobic, tense and thrilling film nonetheless, one that manages to breathe life into this genre whilst delivering one of the best mainstream films of the year in the process. From the swinging camera shots and suffocating long shots through to the great acting from Elisabeth Moss, The Invisible Man is a pleasant surprise and even more so given the film was completed on a budget of around $7 million....

Kohei makes Murakami promise that he’ll stay the same no matter how high up the ladder he climbs. Back then, Murakami didn’t understand what he meant but now, while he’s in the middle of this scandal, it hits home....

He’s got the news on, his house is a cluttered mess and he’s hallucinating, seeing visions of the past while wrestling with debilitating Alzheimer’s....

As Technically Impressive As It Is Enjoyable At a little under 2 hours and 45 minutes, there’s no getting around the fact that The Last Samurai is a long film. Full of breathtaking landscapes, impressive cinematography and well choreographed fight scenes, persevering through the long run time is certainly well rewarded. Tom Cruise is equally as impressive as Nathan Algren too, although the conflicted Captain struggles a little in some of the more demanding scenes but is captivating throughout....

Meanwhile, Yu-Ri is an eccentric lawyer who won the past “Miss Korea” contest for her looks. However, she ended up quitting the firm and starting a law café of her own....

He Rides Again Episode 1 of The Lincoln Lawyer begins in a parking lot late at night. An assassin shows up, shooting a defence lawyer called Jerry in cold blood. He snatches up his briefcase and takes off. It’s a shocking and abrupt opener, one that sets the scene for what’s to follow. We then cut across to a guy called Mickey Haller who receives a call from Lorna, who he has listed as “Second Wife” on his phone....

The Uncanny Valley Episode 9 of The Lincoln Lawyer begins with Mickey trying to get Trevor Elliott ready for cross-examination from Golantz. Given he’s already on the ropes, Trevor’s idea is essentially giving him a free punch to get back in the fight. Mickey’s whole case is hanging precariously in the balance. Meanwhile, Maggie and Lankford bring Alvin Aquino in for questioning. Specifically, his involvement in killing David Loresca, the star witness against Soto....

Double Crossed Episode 4 of The Longest Night starts back at the prison as Elisa scrambles upstairs to break everyone out of the Green Cell Block, intending to move over to the Red Block. However, Ruso and the others happen to be watching on the security monitors as they move out and intend to get their first. Their mission here is, of course, Simon but that doesn’t mean they can’t stop the other inmates....
