Pilot Young adult fiction is one of the more interesting genres out there today. With some incredibly imaginative ideas and creative hooks, oftentimes these stories either outstay their welcome and lose the spark that was so interesting to begin with, or descend far too much into soapy romantic melodrama. Among the sheer number of titles are a few that stand out and become hidden gems. Playing out as a mix between The Goonies and a modern-day Famous Five story, Outer Banks is surprisingly accessible and has all the ingredients to be a sure-fire hit....

Regardless of whether it’s a ferry floating over the Hooghly bridge or the snow-capped Himachal highlands, or even the rich, jewel-toned hues of a Calcutta evening, the backdrop is exquisite. The figures in the forefront are seen next after viewers have taken in the precision with which the entire composition has been put together and it might just be what defines and influences how we watch the movie....

Overcoming Adversity Episode 14 of Racket Boys begins with Se-Yoon and the others racing to drive across to the NJSF tournament. They’re cutting it fine but Coach Ra is angry that the games have been scheduled in this way. Well, given Se-Yoon ends up stuck in rush hour traffic it doesn’t look good. Due to this, it falls to Han-Sol to compete on her own, where she heads out to the court without Se-Yoon....

The End? The Season 1 Finale of Ragnarok begins with Magne informing the authorities about the barrels but unfortunately Vidar gets there first and moves them before they can suspect it’s him. (Quite where he’s moved 2000 barrels to remains a mystery but he’s moved them nonetheless.) Believing Magne is lying and mentally unstable, he’s suspended from school but Gry remains suspicious. Back home, Turid berates Magne but Laurits pipes up and tells her she should focus on being a good mother instead....

The Garden Of Keplar Opening Thoughts If there’s one thing that remains consistent through Ridley Scott’s work it’s the atmosphere. Whether it be the Alien franchise, Gladiator, Blade Runner or whatever the heck Raised By Wolves is, each of these works have a really chilling and moody tone. That much is especially evident with HBO Max’s latest sci-fi which is as weird and strange as it is thought provoking and intriguing....

Infected Memory The Bucket Man While the wind howls unforgivably, episode 5 of Raised By Wolves begins with the mysterious creature finding the children’s trackers and taking them away. Unbeknownst to Marcus, he continues to pursue what he believes to be the children via their trackers. Following Ambrose’s death, Marcus is now in charge. Only, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm to have Marcus taking the reigns. However, the group press on and make it to the crash site....

Lost Paradise Mother’s Secrets Episode 6 of Raised by Wolves begins with Mother continuing to relive her memories from her time with her maker. Pausing the simulation, she watches as Campion kisses her. Given the title she receives of “Savior for humanity”, Mother returns to the settlement with renewed vigor. Of course, watching from the wings are Marcus and the others. Given Mother’s hold over them, Marcus tries to work out where she’s going every day....

Bree meanwhile goes on a retreat for “a night of female discovery,” which is really just taking mushrooms and wandering the woods alone. When she gets lost in the woods, she calls Clay to come help her. Clay picks up Bree, but he urges her to stay in the car while he takes care of something inside a house. Bree suspects something is going on, so she sneaks inside. But she’s surprised to stumble upon an AA meeting....

Renewed Or Cancelled? Hometown Cha Cha Cha is a light, breezy romcom set in a quiet little seaside town. With good acting, a great ensemble and lots of heartwarming moments, it’s certainly one of the better k-dramas on Netflix right now. Generally each episode can be found on the streaming giants shortly after broadcast, with the hard-working subtitle team translating quickly. This 16 episode drama has been consistently good, releasing with the usual two episodes a week every Saturday and Sunday....

A “Reincarnated-in-Another-World” Date Episode 6 of Romantic Killer begins with Junta moving into the Hoshino household. Anzu shows him the place alongside Tsukasa. Junta will stay in the master bedroom, while Tsukasa will stay in Anzu’s father’s study. Junta heads to practice, and Riri appears in wizard form. Anzu knocks him out because he admits to sending the thief into her home. The situation isn’t ideal for Anzu, but she has found a job at a convenience store nearby....
