Specifically how a German historian Christoph Meiners pedaled the idea that mankind was split into two races; the ugly black race and the beautiful white race. Of course, that’s not true but it’s enough to preface the continued divides that Colin and other black men and women like him are experiencing. However, there’s a much more difficult and pressing concern in Colin’s mind right now as we cut back to the present....

That Monty Hall Problem Episode 4 of D.P. begins with Jun-Ho granted leave from military service and heading in to see his Father in hospital. Based on previous flashbacks, he’s a serial abuser and is well known to hit Jun-Ho’s Mother. He’s not exactly happy about Jun-Ho being there, although the feeling is reciprocated from Jun-Ho too. In fact, Jun-Ho tells him that the day he dies will be the time he laughs out loud....

Hidden Feelings Dare Me has always felt artistic but at times it’s fallen into the trap of style over substance. This week however, the cheerleading drama manages to interweave both together for a beautifully edited episode, one that sees the same event played out multiple times from different perspectives. It’s a smart move and one that sees a lot more substance injected into the show in a clever manner. Following the fall-out from the party, everything begins to feel tense this week as Addy takes the brunt of Beth’s resentment after taking her to Colette’s house....

A Match Made In Heaven Behind the glitzy facade of bright lights, larger-than-life personas and show-stopping athleticism, professional wrestling has always hidden a darker side away from the cameras. From power plays and glass ceilings to questionable work ethics and immoral treatment of women, if you dive a little deeper into this, wrestling really isn’t as glamorous as it first appears. Dark Side of the Ring is a 6 part documentary series set out to explore some of these subjects, with the first episode depicting the tumultuous relationship between “Macho Man” Randy Savage and his wife (and in-ring manager) Miss Elizabeth....

And The Baron is… Episode 4 of Daybreak sees Wes trying to encourage Josh by training him in the art of the samurai. Determined, Josh promises to kill both Turbo and Hoyle. It’s a bold statement and one that sees Principal Michael Burr take to the floor for narration duties. Here he talks about Hoyle and how much trouble he was in school. All of this leads us back to the Mall where Angelica checks on Baron Triumph while Josh and Wes head out....

The most endearing aspect of Dead to Me was the presence of the former, who did not reveal themselves in a straightforward manner. Like the story, they too have layers and an entire spectrum of personalities that came out during these two seasons. Before you watch season 3, do read our recap of season 2 which will also include some context from season 1 explaining the origin of the story!...

Netflix’s Dead to Me has finally concluded after an emotional season. The streaming giants announced the cancelation of the series well before season 3 went into production. While fans can take solace in the fact that it was a creative decision and came from within the people behind the show, they will definitely miss seeing our modern-day Thelma & Louise. Dead to Me revived the dark comedy genre with aplomb and a cascading of ironies that brought our central female leads together....

Quantic Dream’s Best Narrative Experience So Far Quantic Dream’s latest interactive adventure, Detroit: Become Human, is a gripping, thought provocative tale about androids becoming sentient and rising up against humans. Split between three different narrative perspectives and merging the best parts of the studio’s previous two blockbuster games, Detroit is a well written adventure for the most part with just enough meaningful choices and deviating narrative paths to give a much better illusion of choice compared to Beyond: Two Souls and the Telltale games in the same genre....

Do Revenge Plot Synopsis Do Revenge on Netflix has suddenly gained traction a few days after it started streaming. Its peppy tone and an array of youth icons in the cast did promise commercial success. Currently, the revenge teen comedy is trending in the top 10 and should remain there at least for another week until the new releases hit the platform. Camilla Mendez and Maya Hawke make for impressive leading ladies, sharing electric chemistry in their criminal conspiracy....

Doom Patrol Season 4 Episode 5 Doom Patrol returns with a bang, as our favourite misfits look set to tackle quite the threats this year. Cyborg has now regained his full humanity but at the cost of his cybernetic implants. By comparison, Jane no longer has access to her powerful alternate personalities. If that wan’t enough, the start of this season saw our characters take a time machine to the future....

East New York Season 1 Episode 3 East New York follows the recently promoted police captain of East New York, Regina Haywood, as she leads a diverse group of officers and detectives forward to protect the community. With family in the area, Regina is determined to deploy creative methods to protect those around her. Some of her fellow officers are understandably resistant to change, but our protagonist is steadfast and determined to make a real change....

This drama-romance anthology of unconnected stories explores different groups of people in different stages of their life as they search for happiness and love in Chicago. With the exception of a few episodes, many of the stories feel like they’re building toward something and then anticlimactically end making Easy more of a passive, indifferent watch than it should be....

I Hear Voices Episode 5 of Equinox begins with Astrid answering David’s messages, deciding against heading back home after all. Instead, she’s gone to Marrakech and followed the address Jakob sent his letter from. Once there though, she finds Amelia who happens to be very much alive and seemingly at peace. There’s some serious Midsommar vibes as Astrid is brought in to this cult. Apparently Amelia cast off her old name a long time ago and now she’s known as Cybele....

Evil Season 3 Episode 7 Evil Season 3 reunites the cast as Kristen, David and Ben return to investigate strange, supposed abnormal events including demonic possessions. Dr Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) navigates professional and personal problems. She teams up with a priest-in-training for the Catholic church called David Acosta (Mike Colter). There’s also Ben Shakir (Asaif Mandvi), whose expertise with technology counteracts that of David’s spirituality. Of course, these individual characters have their own overarching stories too that help tie everything together....

The School Prank Part 1 Episode 4 of Extracurricular begins with Min-Hee visiting Mr Lee at his truck, just as Uncle rings and tells them they’re back in business. In school, Gyuri and Ji-Soo discuss their work. While he reserves judgment on her position in their co-partnership, she tells him about her role as the “It Insider”; the girl who knows all the secrets of her fellow classmates. While Ji-Soo struggles to deal with the bullies at school, outside Ji-Soo and Gyuri continue their operation, building up funds again....

F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers For fans of South Korean drama Boys Over Flowers (Netflix, Viki, Tubi, Hulu) or the Taiwanese Meteor Garden (Netflix) or indeed the original, Japanese Hana Yori Dango, there’s now a new version of the classic story on streaming channels straight from Thailand. If you’ve watched Meteor Garden 2018 (Netflix – see mini-review here) early indications show F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers to have a similarly modern vibe attached to the classic manga story....

The guys are having a video conference regarding raising funds for Jerome’s surgery. Cleveland’s network is wonky, so he goes on the roof with his laptop. Unfortunately, a bird snatches his laptop and flies away leaving Cleveland distraught. The guys decide they can raise funds by publishing a “sexy men in uniform” calendar. The photoshoot begins. After Joe’s turn, it’s Cleveland who is getting some crazy-sexy pictures shot for the calendar....

A Fanatic Heart Episode 6 of Fate: The Winx Saga begins with Bloom speaking to Rosalind from within her magic prison and asking the fairy to channel the flames within her. Using Rosalind’s influence and tools, Bloom starts to channel her abilities. As she does, Aisha rocks up with Dowling, who heads down to find Bloom before it’s too late. Unfortunately, the fairy releases Rosalind from her prison who’s on the hunt for more magic....
