The Big Battle…As Told Via Lego Episode 6 of Daybreak begins with Turbo arranging pieces of Lego before we’re told through expository text that it’s going to be a (mostly) accurate re-enactment of the battle for the mall. Only, it turns out it’s all told to us through dialogue instead of actual action. As the kids start cleaning up the mall after the fighting, KJ approaches Josh and tells him they need to attack Turbo....

The only Ghost I ever saw Episode 3 of Dickinson Season 2 begins with Anna and Clara causing problems in church for Mrs. Dickinson while Emily finds herself troubled by what she experienced last episode. Given she keeps seeing the ghostly apparition everywhere, Emily eventually leaves church and speaks to Sue outside about Sam. Sam wants to publish her poems but Emily is having second thoughts; she’s not sure whether this is what she wants or not....

The Reunion After a brief recap on events, episode 11 of Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol begins 1 month later after the ensuing drama. Min-Su is getting his hair done by Sook-Kyung who reveals that he actually used to live there. The divorced ladies continue to gossip, interrupted briefly by news reports discussing the murder down by the docks. Min-Su interjects though and tells them an animated story about this dead body, complete with animated expressions....

Withering Heights Episode 4 of Doom at Your Service begins with the aftermath of our rooftop drama. Dong-Kyung is not happy and gives Myul-Mang the cold shoulder. She tries to force the issue, telling him to come and lie next to her. Back to back, the pair lie on Myul-Mang’s bed discussing their fate and what happened on the roof. She does, however, mention that the look he gave her was pretty cold and scary....

Sustained Excellence Doom Patrol has been the biggest surprise of 2019. Clever writing, solid plotting and some pretty creative characterisation combine to make Doom Patrol, at least after the first 3 episodes, one of the best shows of the year. Of course, as I said before this is a bold prediction to make given how early we are in the run time for this one, but if Doom Patrol can keep this up it’ll be a tough one to beat....

Although the album feels a little front-heavy, with some of the best songs occurring early on, the reflective, sombre tone toward the end works perfectly to give the album some much-needed depth....

Beginning with Chapo’s rise to power and ending with his eventual downfall, this 9 part crime series does a great job of depicting this notorious man’s life, even if it does feel more like a political thriller at times....

Reintegration Episode 5 of Elite Season 4 begins with a voice recording in the present. It’s incriminating Samuel, asking him to meet at the pier in 30 minutes. Although he claims not to have received it, the police chief is not so sure he’s telling the truth. We then cut back to our current timeline. Mencia heads over to see Rebe, avoiding the suspicious gaze of Sandra and trying to explain her position to Rebe....

Unfortunately, despite the promise of a decent survival story featuring rhinos, hyenas, and other African beasts, the movie quickly underwhelmed due to the lame script, dodgy acting, and lack of any real tension. Still, the movie isn’t all bad. It was shot on location at a real National Park in Kenya and this gives Endangered Species some level of authenticity. The wide, sweeping vistas of the African plains are quite beautiful to look at and the director can be commended for the camerawork that gives us both a birds-eye view and up close and personal look of the landscape that the unfortunate family are forced to wander around in as they battle to stay alive....

Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door Episode 1 of Euphoria Season 2 starts this long-awaited second series in a very different direction. A cold bit of narration turns the attention across to Fezco, and in particular his grandmother. She shoots a club owner in both his thighs, barely blinking, while he sits with his penis out, screaming. With a young Fezco in the back of her car, this blonde-haired guardian isn’t exactly a great role-model, but teaches Fezco everything he needs to know about drug dealing....

Through a series of re-enacted love scenes, we see the pair’s affection for one another. Brokeback Mountain, Titanic and even Sleeping Beauty are depicted.
