A Disappointing End To A Wasted Trilogy Godzilla is one of those enigmas that never fails to draw a crowd. After countless sequels, reboots and media appearances, Netflix’s anime trilogy featuring this iconic behemoth has been one of the biggest missed opportunities in recent memory. Despite some decent art work and an impressive voice cast, both films prior to this have failed to really capture the excitement and awe needed to really bring the best out of a Godzilla story....

Predictably Underwhelming From Freddy VS Jason to Batman VS Superman, these blockbuster fights can usually be summed up with two words – “predictable” and “underwhelming.” Despite a lot of hype and some dazzling special effects, Godzilla VS Kong is a predictably underwhelming match-up. Armed with a by-the-numbers, formulaic story, lots of forgettable human characters and bursts of CGI-filled action, Godzilla VS Kong is a bit of a mixed bag. When it hits its stride, Godzilla VS Kong is absolutely fantastic and the visual effects in particular are stunning....

Red Shoes Episode 5 of Goedam begins in class as a group of school girls discuss Jin-Gyeong jumping in front of a moving truck. However, they’re interrupted by the teacher arriving, stern-faced to discuss the death of that very same student. Tellingly, up on the wall is a picture of the two students from the opening episode. As it turns out, the dead schoolgirl was actually being bullied and involved in a group chat....

The Storm Is Here We return to High Seas to find Nicolas has been shot. Dr Rojas is called to help and he scrambles to heal Nicolas’ wounds while one of the nurses suddenly becomes dizzy and bows out of the surgery. Both know Pil-Hong is behind it all but don’t want to tell each other. Meanwhile, Pil-Hong heads over to confront the chairwoman about making him take the deal from Jae-Hee without him knowing. Like all good things, great TV shows have to come to an end. It’s a crushing inevitability unless the TV show in question is Coronation Street, in which case you can probably expect it to go on forever! Over the years, many shows have ended, for all kinds of reasons, and if you have spent hours/days/weeks of your life binge-watching them, you might feel a sense of grief when the final credits have rolled....

A conglomerate cocktail of better thrillers I Came By is essentially a conglomerate cocktail of better thrillers. There’s a little bit of Don’t Breathe, some Watchdogs in here and a bit of V for Vendetta. Oh and a big ol’ dollop of questionable plotting too. Armed with an incredibly unlikable protagonist, a tired and rehashed “rich VS poor” theme and a final act that goes completely off the rails, I Came By’s potential comes quickly but soon peters out into forgettable fluff....
