Utterly bizarre and boasting some wacky, creatively visual segments, this comedic romance gets off to a pretty good start here with some genuine laugh out loud moments. While there is some lowbrow humour regarding Kang-Woo’s stomach problems and some over-acting in places, Love With Flaws is utterly mesmerizing and difficult to take your eyes off....

The Lost Cities Set in 17th century Italy, Luna Nera’s story revolves around women being prosecuted for being witches. The first episode doesn’t waste any time throwing us straight into the heart of the action by introducing us to the characters and setting the scene for an intriguing and bewitching supernatural series to follow. The visuals and the acting are quite impressive and with just 6 episodes, the series should be quite easy to binge watch....

Ponies Episode 2 of Maid begins in the past with Alex first meeting Sean at the bar. He’s the only one who listens to her as she “reads sad words” up on stage during a short break from her shift. The two exchange glances, although just in front of him happens to be a guy called Nate. In the present, Nate shows up at the ferry port and greets Alex while she’s sat on the floor with Maddy....

Major Grom: Plague Doctor Plot Synopsis Major Grom: Plague Doctor is a Russian action film that takes tried and tested tropes from different superhero pictures and blends them together. The result is a refreshingly original and wholly familiar take on the genre. At the center of this is police detective Igor Grom who’s synonymous with managing to prevent crimes through any means necessary. Unfortunately this also causes Igor to become shunned by his own police force after some rather heavy-handed methods....

A Promising Start Ruined By A Subjective Plot Twist From the incredibly disappointing (The Open House) to the surprisingly chilling (The Ritual), when it comes to Netflix horror films, it’s fair to say the quality is unpredictable at best. Step forward Malevolent, the next in a seemingly endless line of horror releases coming to the streaming platform this month in a bid to bolster out its horror catalogue. Despite a strong opening and some decent characterisation early on, Malevolent can’t quite follow through with its promising concept, falling back on gruesome, gory clichés rather than sustaining its moody mystery that grips much of the first half....

What’s Up, Danger? 2018’s Spider-Man was easily one of the best video games of the year, successfully taking what worked in the Arkham series and naturally expanding that to fit with a more nimble and acrobatic style for Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. With surprisingly nimble web shooting mechanics, a deeply satisfying combat system and an easy open world that didn’t stretch on endlessly for the sake of boasting a larger size (hello Ubisoft), Spider-Man was – and still is – one of the best superhero games on PS4....

Another Twist Melting Me Softly carries on with its dramatic premise here as our two protagonists struggle to live a normal live with the multiple threats surrounding them. While the first half of the episode feels quite slow and doesn’t do much to move the story forward, the second half does well to bring some new developments into the fold, adding a sense of urgency to the drama. After their shower, Mi-ran asks Dong-Chan if they’ll ever be able to live a normal life....

Not like a shvantz right in the face Episode 1 of Minx starts with a woman named Joyce accepting the Pulitzer Award in 1971. This happens to be a vision though, as we find out later on in the episode; an idealized dream that shows where Joyce’s value lies. Joyce is rudely snapped out of this by a catcaller, as we see her en-route to a big Pitch-Fest; a convention where one can pitch their own magazine ideas....

Norman Mailer, Samantha Shortcake Episode 3 of Minx begins with Doug showing Tina around an office. Only, it’s under construction and they’re soon forced to flee. Back at Bottom Dollar, Joyce shows up but finds police swarming outside. The place has been raided and that’s obviously not good news. Everyone is pretty calm about it inside though. These shakedowns are the ugly part of this industry, and with a new councilwoman at City Hall, Doug and the gang are probably going to get more scrutiny in the future....
