Chiefland embark even more on their full length. The German act provide a melodic sound, a sound which offers well-crafted instrumentals and sincere lyricism, that keeps the interest intact. The album doesn’t batter on, or let loose a louder frequency, its a subtle record, with moments of tenderness, moments of reflection, and the tiny details are so relevant here, as well as the big ones. Sadness rushes thoroughly too, and the band desire to eradicate it from their world but it lingers on....

Track Listing Dawn Dusk Suncrown Memories Sacred Overgrown Atmospheric and tightly composed, Cloud Walk is a serene chill-hop album that perfectly captures the title of the EP; at times it really does feel like you’re audibly walking on clouds. The album opens with “Dawn”, a lovely track that combines a soothing female vocal and a simple beat to immediately capture the essence of this EP. It’s mixed perfectly into “Dusk” too, which uses a simple rising chord with – what sounds like – a shamisen (Japanese guitar) to capture a very laidback Eastern-inspired vibe....

Silver or Lead We begin episode 2 of Coyote in 2019, deep in the heart of El Salvador. A kid called Manuel shows up with a loaded gun at school. His teacher brushes aside his threats though and tells him to leave. Unfortunately this boy happens to be working for a gang and they’re none too happy with him. This gang finds the teacher’s home and eventually begin slicing him up with swords....

A Missed Opportunity Showcasing the grimy underbelly of Britain is something that’s been done countless times before on the big screen. From Football Factory and Green Street through to the Kidulthood trilogy, there’s a whole wealth of films that capture that dangerous criminality rife in the darkest corners of the country. Dagenham is a film that tries, and ultimately fails, to capture this. The pieces are there but unfortunately a lack of empathetic characters and a messy plot with far too many under-cooked ideas make this more of a missed opportunity than it should be....

Two Conversations Devs is a show I’ve been enthralled with since the opening episode. Alex Garland has a way of spinning these interesting philosophical and sci-fi ideas into a digestible way that keeps you thinking long after the credits roll, and Devs is no exception. With big ideas around rebirth, technology and alternate realities, Devs has the potential to be one of the best sci-fi series of the year. Unfortunately this week really shows how stretched the material is and much like The Outsider earlier this year, Devs should have been reduced to a 5-part miniseries....
