The Return Episode 41 of Homemade Love Story starts with Jung-Hoo dressed as “James” arriving at Jae-Hee’s work and asking him to come home. Jae-Hee thinks his father has lost his memories again but the latter quickly reassures him. He decided to dress like this as this is the only time he is fond of him. The two discuss their strained relationship and start making ways in understanding each other. Jung-Hoo tells him he is determined to show that he is willing to change and wants to tell him a secret....

Five Episode 5 of Hospital Playlist Season 2 picks up where we left off with Ik-Sun telling her not to tell anyone about her condition – especially Jun-Wan. She mentions how she’s been dating Jun-Wan but broke it off and doesn’t know about her condition. Late at night, we see a depressed Jun-Wan sitting at the kitchen table. Jeong-Won notices that his friend looks down but Jun-Wan remains silent. The next day, Young-Hye meets with Rosa and the two discuss how much Seok-Hyeong has changed....

Fading Like A Flower Following yesterday’s rather subdued episode, we return to Hotel Del Luna tonight with a final twist in the serial killer plot and another step toward a tragic ending to this beautifully written Korean drama. With a longer run-time clocking in at around 90 minutes or so, Hotel Del Luna makes the most of its extra run-time, ending with a final kiss between Man-Wol and Chan-Sung, a moment we’ve been waiting for since the show begun all those weeks ago....

Dismissal With less than a handful of episodes left, Hyena returns for one of its best episodes as we finally see Geum-Ja and Hee-Jae working together on the same page. It’s taken a while but the great juxtapositions here compared to earlier in the series make the wait worth it. With plenty left unresolved at the end and a solid hour of plot and character progression, the door is left wide open for this one going forward....

With the backing of Charli XCX and a heavy promotional push, Nasty Cherry is an inspiring effort but ultimately highlights everything wrong with the music industry today....

Sexually Transmitted Demon When it comes to originality in the horror genre, almost every idea has been exhausted and run into the ground. From vampires and demons through to werewolves and evil spirits, it’s increasingly difficult for a horror film to come along and deliver something that genuinely feels original or breathes some much needed life into an otherwise over-saturated genre. Step forward It Follows, a smartly written horror film, playing on the conventional teen tropes you’d expect with a film like this with enough originality to make it one of the better horrors released in this generation....

Blood Is Thicker Than Water Itaewon Class returns following that bombshell ending in episode 9 for another strong hour of drama, one that shows the Chairman will do whatever it takes to see his company succeed. With Sae-Ro-Yi executing his plan and plenty of big talking points to discuss, Itaewon Class continues to impress as we reach the business end of this drama. After throwing hot coffee in his face, episode 10 of Itaewon Class begins with Yi-Seo running away from Geun-Won....

The Diamond We’ve only got a few weeks left of Itaewon Class and this series is gearing up for a dramatic finale to follow. With lots of big talking points and Sae-Ro-Yi facing seemingly insurmountable odds, this episode sees our characters walk through hellfire to try and get to the rewards at the end. With more strong characterisation and some big themes at the heart of this one, JTBC’s latest Korean drama is a real powerhouse that promises to end just as strongly as these episodes have been week to week....

The Scarred Hand Episode 4 of Jirisan begins in 2020. On the mountain, Da-won checks the rock arrangement she made for Yi-gang and gets the memory card from the motion sensor camera. She notices the stick that Hyun-jo moved as crows flock in the sky above her and heavy clouds roll in. Hyun-jo tries to speak to her, but she is frightened and bolts, passing through his outstretched hand. We cut to the hospital next where his body is trembling, and a bruise has formed on that same hand....

The Wildfire Rages Episode 8 of Jirisan starts with Yi-gang figuring out that the remains she landed next to are Se-wook’s. Focus then shifts to the rangers, firefighters, and police who are racing to control the pine tree habitat wildfire, which is now only 1km away from Jingye Village. The rangers form the first line of defence, digging fire lines to try and halt the flames. In the warehouse, Hyun-jo searches for an exit with no luck....

Armed with slick cinematography, a keen eye for colour and interesting compositional techniques, Joy is an aesthetically pleasing film but certainly won’t be for everyone. With a simple, character-driven focus, Joy does enough to make it worth watching but those looking for something with a little more drama or substance, may be left wanting....

A Pleasant But Largely Forgettable Film While Juanita does well to deliver a heartwarming slice-of-life picture, it fails to deliver much else. With a profound lack of drama, sleepy plotting and a host of cookie-cutter characters, Juanita fails to really establish itself as a feel good drama, blending into the mundanity of its road-trip trope a little more than it should. The story itself revolves around middle aged Juanita. Breaking the fourth wall and speaking to the camera about her life, Juanita sheds light on her demanding job and even more demanding family including her kids and grand-kids who all share one roof....

The Mole We begin episode 4 of Kairos with Geon-Wook learning that Ae-Ri has left work, heading off on his moped to try and find her. Meanwhile, Seo-Jin leaves a voicemail for Ae-Ri warning her not to go inside the house…while a month earlier Ae-Ri creeps through Jin-Ho’s front garden, unaware of what’s going to happen to her. What ensues from here is a slick back and forth as Seo-Jin begins investigating inside the house while Ae-Ri meets and greets Jin-Ho....
